Google Update: New Real-Time Penguin Algorithm

November 9, 2015

The Google Penguin algorithm was originally launched in April 2012 in order to stop websites linking to ‘spammy’ websites. The latest update is set to take place by the end of this year.

Since 2012, we have seen many updates released. Each time Google releases a new Penguin update, websites have to take action to remove all their bad links (we do this through the Google disavow link tool). Although you may be worried that your visibility will decrease by removing links you will actually find that you will regain rankings as Google will not be penalizing your site.

What is the new Penguin update?

The new Penguin Algorithm is set to be in real-time. This means that as soon as Google discovers that a link has been disavowed, Penguin will process this immediately, and you will be able to recover from a Penguin penalty quicker than ever before. However, you could also find yourself being penalized by Penguin just as quickly, if you are not following the best practices.
