We’re proud to launch our latest responsive website for Aquarius.
Aquarius are a free and confidential service that helps people overcome the harms of alcohol, drugs and gambling. They work all across the country and have recently been names by The Sunday Times as one of the top 100 not-for-profit organisations to work for!
We have been working together to design and build a brand new website that conveys the work that Aquarius do and the hard work put in by their clients. Using custom characters we developed a style that Aquarius have rolled out across their brand. From proud dudes to little brown dogs, we’ve developed a base of characters that Aquarius can use to convey their clients base.
We have created a responsive website for Aquarius which means that no matter what device the site is viewed on, the user will get the optimum viewing experience. The website is also driven by a CMS, so Aquarius have full control over the content on their site and have the ability to add and remove new pages. We wanted to make sure that everyone at Aquarius had an easy to use system that worked for them.
Interesting areas of the site particularly include their blog, this streams into the homepage and is categorised by affliction so that the users can connect to the right channels. They also have a forum area where users can sign up and discuss topics with other like minded people.
To coincide with the launch of their website we created a video animation that tracks a metaphorical journey with Aquarius. We use the characters throughout this to represent each addiction that Aquarius aim to help with: alcohol, drugs and gambling. As well as this, the little dog that follows them on their journey is used to represent family support. The journey tracks the group up a mountain on a rainy day, representing their decision to choose Aquarius. As they make their way up the hill the skys get clearer and the group gets healthier. Eventually after a little stumble, they find the help from Aquarius at the top and look out across the city from the mountain top. Cue the cheers and fireworks and you’ve got a solid metaphor for the life changing work Aquarius do!
