Responsive Website Design for City of Leicester College

August 1, 2014

After working previously with The City of Leicester College on their old site, we were thrilled to be asked to design and develop their brand new website.

A word that was often brought up during the design of the site was ‘future-proofing’. The City of Leicester College have recently spent millions of pounds on new technology throughout their brand new purpose built campus so it was extremely important to reflect this with a completely up to the minute website design and build.

This website really does deliver, featuring parallax technology, a fully responsive build, retina ready to cater for all the apple devices out there in a a crisp clean fashion.  This website also boasts an cleverly developed menu system when viewing on a iPhone or smart phone.  Check it out.

One thing was clear throughout the design, the volume of content throughout the site had to be organised efficiently. What was of most importance was how the information was split between the students and parents. We used a navigation bar that would stick to the top of the browser window so the user could always find it, no matter how deep they were into the website. From there, students and parent info was clearly sectioned and mega menus were used to allow easy views of the content available. Introducing a social wall into the site has also ensured that the City of Leicester College website is constantly updated and keeps the students and parents engaged.
