Last Week Fifteen were proud to launch the new website forThe Sixth Form College, Solihull, after working with them over the last few months on their Prospectus, Photoshoot’s and Website we are thrilled that the website is finally live, and we can’t wait to see where it takes them!
About The College
The Sixth Form College, Solihull is a specialist provider of a range of different higher education courses for 16-19 years olds in the Solihull/Birmingham area. With a 100% pass rate in 27 advanced level course and many students progressing to Oxbridge over the last 10 years, the college prides itself on its calibre of student and ethos.
To create a whole new look and feel for the college, developing a consistency across digital and print work. We would be using their existing branding, with the aim to build something memorable, and inspiring for prospective students.
Within the website, we wanted to capture the attention and become innovative, while trying to stay true to the college’s core values, ethos and build credibility about the college, removing any myths with student case studies and testimonials throughout the website and print materials. As well as this it was important to illustrate the positive impact the college has – rounded individuals, excellent academic credentials, unique and genuinely valuable enrichment for its students.
We started the project by visiting the college to take a range of photos of their students to use throughout the prospectus and website. After this was complete, a selection of the photos are used throughout the prospectus to help demonstrate key areas and points and to provide a visual aid.
We worked closely with the client to understand their hopes and aspirations for the website and helps produced a strong identity which was continued throughout the design work that we created.
Key elements of functionality through the website is the ability to select a course from the range that is on offer, the ability to add events, news articles, case studies and testimonials all of which the admin of the website can add and edit themselves moving forward with the new website.
The website is fully responsive, and uses best practice development and modern design techniques, using CSS animation where necessary. The site is built using WordPress CMS, which means that the client can access the website and edit the content at any time, keeping their website up to date with the latest news, events and other important information such as Ofsted reports and College Results.
We are looking forward to seeing where the website takes the college and are looking forward to a long lasting relationship in the years to come.
What they had to say
“The Sixth Form College, Solihull started working with Fifteen Design earlier this year, after we went out to tender for a new prospectus and website. The entire process has probably taken longer than Fifteen are used to, but it’s a time of great change and uncertainty in education and Fifteen have demonstrated their flexibility by working to our timescales and specifications.
I have been working with Michelle and Sophie most closely on developing first the prospectus and then the new website. We had a great day at College for a photo shoot. The sun shone and the students were enthusiastic and patient and the resulting photos look amazing! Together with a design that we are all happy with, it is giving us a prospectus that we are confident will appeal to both parents and prospective students, which is no easy feat to achieve!
Hopefully this is just the start of a fruitful relationship between The Sixth Form College, Solihull and Fifteen Design. While new students are about to join us for their A level and BTEC studies, we are about to start another hectic year of recruitment, looking ahead to 2017 enrolment. Of course, open days and school liaison will be an important part of that, but for most prospective students and parents their first impression of the College will come by way of our prospectus and website, so the real measure of success will be in the coming weeks and months. “
