A Day In The Life Of A Digital Marketing Manager – Natalie Crouch

October 21, 2016 - fifteen

Morning

Usually I’ll get into the office between 8am and 8:45. It’s a great to get in early as it means you can really get your head down while it’s quiet, sort out your emails and look at the day ahead of you.

First thing, we have a digital marketing meeting. This involves India, Kirsty, Alex and Abbie who make up the digital marketing team. In these meetings we look at schedules and mind-mapping for our client accounts. This is a great time for the team to get together to bounce ideas off each other and get really creative with our campaigns.

Each week we mind-map for a different client and will all get involved to get the perspective of all the different channel. Kirsty for SEO, Alex for social media, and India for the creative ideas. We call her the ‘ideas girl’ as she always comes up with amazing ideas which clients love!

When we get back to our desks I’ll get stuck into a PPC account of affiliate account. These are the two areas I specialise in. This will consist of talking to affiliates to gain exposure for client campaigns or optimising a PPC campaign for higher conversion.

 Lunchtime

Lunchtime comes and India usually persuades us to have a Subway or McDonalds (it would be rude to say no). Usually this consists of chicken nuggets with chips and a diet coke….the diet coke obviously cancels out all the other calories.

 Afternoon

After lunch I have a client meeting so I am off to Loughborough. These meetings are used to go through the last month’s reports as well as go through future campaign plans. Maintaining strong relationships with our clients is key and we ensure we see our clients every month so they can see the results we are generating for them.

After the client meeting I meet Ollie in Nottingham for a new client pitch. This one is a client who is looking for a complete marketing solution. Our initial meetings are usually fact finding and discovery to find out the objectives of the work before we put together a full proposal and recommend what channels they should be utilising.

After Work

At the end of the day, I get back to my dog Phoebe and will take her out for a walk usually around Bradgate Park followed by a take-away with one of my friends. I have the worst diet possible and live off junk food!
