We were very honoured when we were asked by the Luey Jacob Sharp Foundation to design and build their new website. The LJS Foundation was set up by professional footballer Billy Sharp and his partner Jade Fair when they lost their son Luey to Gastroschisis aged just 3 days. Gastroschisis is a birth defect where a baby’s intestines grow on the outside of the body through a defect in of the abdominal wall. This defect affects thousands of baby’s worldwide and we understood the importance of making sure we played our part in designing a website that really helps raise awareness of the condition as well as educating people that haven’t heard of it before.

The website also acts as an e-commerce platform for people to be able to buy the famous LJS Foundation wristbands. Billy Sharp has made the blue bands famous around the world with fans and fellow professionals getting behind the charity and wearing the bands in memory of Luey. As well as the bands, the website gives visitors the opportunity to bid on signed memorabilia, football shirts, boots pictures and many other wonderful items. The impact that the foundation has made throughout the country has been phenomenal with hundreds of people raising money for the charity through various sponsored events including marathons, sponsored walks and many many more. There is a downloadable sponsorship form available on the Fundraising page of the website with an A-Z of money raising ideas (although some of them are quite strange) and the Calendar section means that you can keep up to date with any events that you may want to attend or take part in.It was a real pleasure for us to work with the LJS Foundation and we hope to support them for many years to come and more importantly we hope that we have done Billy, Jade, Leo and of course Luey, proud. 🙂
