The Client

Stormclad are the East Midlands leading home improvements company. They have been established for over 20 years, specialising in quality products that include Conservatories, Windows, Doors, Carports and Verandas. All of their products are made in the UK and are designed with the users requirements of safety, security, style and energy efficiency in mind. As well as a huge portfolio of bespoke products, Stormclad pride themselves on their excellent customer service and breadth of experience. Their goal is to provide their customers with the best experience in home improvements, exceeding expectations every time and taking the hassle out of the journey.

As part of their business development, Stormclad were ready to embark on a whole new website design and build, as well as supporting digital marketing to boost the visibility and performance of the website overall. The goal in launching a new website and marketing campaign was for Stormclad to increase their conversion rate online and generate more quality enquiries. Throughout this exercise, the key was to delve deep into the needs of the customer, explore their goals and help deliver a digital experience that would connect with the user throughout all stages of their customer journey and help create quality leads through the website.

Discovery

As part of their business development, Stormclad were ready to embark on a whole new website design and build, as well as supporting digital marketing to boost the visibility and performance of the website overall. The goal in launching a new website and marketing campaign was for Stormclad to increase their conversion rate online and generate more quality enquiries. Throughout this exercise, the key was to delve deep into the needs of the customer, explore their goals and help deliver a digital experience that would connect with the user throughout all stages of their customer journey and help create quality leads through the website.

During the discovery phase of the website project, we visited the client’s showroom sites to get a real feel for their product range and the phenomenal service Stormclad provide their customers. This was imperitive to inform our discovery stage, in tandem with digital research, which we created personas, customer journey and emotional journeys from. These fed into our digital strategy in order to target the right users at the right time, as well as informing the website structure and design.

Solution

We began the web design by creating a new sitemap that aligned with the user goals, business goals and digital marketing strategy. We prioritised which pages and user flows that were going to satisfy the users the most. Product pages and showroom pages were highlighted as the key parts of the site that would help the user make their decisions into purchasing from Stormclad. We helped to inform what type of content should be included within these pages in order to satisfy the users needs too. During wireframing stage it was key to include a lot of calls to action, as we discovered that users engaged with Stormclad at several different points within their journey. We created a ‘quick enquiry’ form that was visible within the product and case study pages, so the user could engage with Stormclad early on, but carry on their browsing through their desired pages. Another key area to facilitate within the design of the site was to include areas to show off the beautiful imagery. Stormclad’s products are high quality, stylish and bespoke, so it was important to showcase the variety of styles available through high quality, large imagery throughout the slide. We wanted to give the client the flexibility to upload new images throughout the website, in order to keep the site progressing and up to date, so the kept the design simple and easy to build upon from the clients perspective.
