The RSPCA’s New Site Gets Tails (and Tongues) Wagging

October 28, 2019

RSPCA Nottingham and Notts are a branch of the household name RSPCA, servicing the animals across Nottinghamshire

The work that the team at Nottingham and Notts do is vital to the success of getting as many animals rehomed as possible, they provide vital care to animals that are sick or injured and in need of treatment, they transport animals between locations and cover those all-important vet bills from basic treatments to the more server treatments saving animals lives on a daily basis.

The team at the RSPCA based in Hyson Green are completely dedicated to their roles, it’s clear that they love what they do, and have dedicated many years to helping thousands of animals.

It’s been a pleasure to work with the team on this project, and we hope to work with them more in the future.

The Task

The RSPCA approached us and tasked us with revamping their old website.

RSPCA Old Website Design

The website wasn’t mobile responsive and contained a lot of information on one page which made it difficult to navigate and follow, lacking user experience and wasn’t accessible for the team to make updates to the content with ease.

 The Website

Understanding what they do, and having many animal lovers within the office, we knew from the start that the RSPCA Nottingham and Notts website would be a great project to work on.

We started by understanding exactly the involvement that the Nottingham and Notts branch do within the RSPCA, and how they operate within the bigger picture, we wanted to bring personality to the website, using the brand colours and wide range of images available to us.

Creating something easy to digest and navigate with a strong call to actions was key and important to the success of the website, making the website visual with images was always going to be a key focus point for us – because who doesn’t love a cute animal picture?!

In the picture above, you can see how we’ve bought the website into the modern-day and age, displaying the content in easy to digest bites of information that is engaging and dynamic.

The website is built in WordPress and allows the team at the Hyson Green site to access the content management system to update the website and change the content, images and stats that are on there, allowing them to tailor the site to fit the times of year, and push focus onto their services which match in with the wider picture.

The team at Fifteen are proud to have been able to work with the charity, and we’ve loved having a bit of insider insight into their world, finding out more about the fantastic work that they do.

What They Said

“Our old website was more than tired. After Ollie from Fifteen visited us here at Hyson Green we click immediately and felt assured that our ideas, budget and requirements would be respected. However, we didn’t expect the process it to be quite so easy and the whole team, especially Sophie and Lucy made our revamp a dream. We’ve had all our queries answered promptly, felt supported and at the helm throughout. It is vital for a self-funding charity to have a good ‘shop window’ but to also be mindful of cost, Fifteen rose to that challenge and excelled. The fact we can update the site ourselves is amazing. The team have a passion for animals which obviously endeared us and understood the brief completely. They were professional, encouraging, full of enthusiasm and made the whole project fun. We know we’ve got a fantastic new website but also have support from Fifteen. Goes without saying, we highly recommend the business.

Thank you very much once again, we know how much work has gone into this and we are VERY proud of the site. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you all.”
