At the young age of 94 and with a lifetime of achievements, Sir David Attenborough bagged himself a Guinness World Record. The famed presenter reached 1 million followers on Friday last week.
It took the legend just 4 hours and 44 minutes to get to 1 million! This smashed Jennifer Aniston’s previous record of 5 hours 16 minutes – set in October 2019.
He is now (end of September 2020) on almost 5 million as his explosive start to life on Instagram continues.
Being arguably the biggest influencer in the world when it comes to environmental issues and nature, Sir David has reached the hearts of generations through several platforms however Instagram has not been one of them.
Saving the planet through social media
The reason for his new adventure is simply to widen his horizons so he can spread the word further as he continues to fight for the planet. In his first video, he said: “Saving our planet is now a communications challenge”.
Being nearly 100, social media isn’t his natural habitat by any stretch of the imagination, so he has got helpers on hand to produce and post the content.
