How You Can Help Support the Charities We Work With

June 1, 2018

As an agency, we’ve worked with many brilliant charities over the years, all of whom we want to support as much as we can. We donate our time and money towards charities every year, and we encourage the Fifteam to get involved as much as possible.

The Charities we work with

Nottingham Hospitals Charity –

Nottingham Hospitals Charity is a local charity that supports healthcare for patients accessing City Hospital, Queens Medical Centre, Children’s Hospital and Ropewalk House. The charity raises money for new equipment, staff developmental research and improved resources. Find out more about the charities’ Big Appeal, which is in full swing at the moment, or helps them out with a donation.

Imran Khan Cancer Appeal –

After losing his mum to cancer, famous cricketer Imran Khan setup IKCA. The charity helps people in Pakistan diagnosed with cancer, where up to 75% of patients receive free treatment, and others receive subsidies. The charity currently runs the only cancer hospital in Pakistan. There are a number of urgent appeals that they could really use your help with right now, have a look at the appeals here.

Orphans in Need –

Orphans in Need is a UK based charity who won the Muslim Charity of the Year Award in 2015. OIN delivers sustainable, long-term solutions to those in need, supporting over 20,000 orphans and their families in 14 countries. They offer regular food parcels, education fees, healthcare and accommodation. Their mission is to see a world where all orphaned children have a chance to grow up in a lovely and caring environment. You can help support OIN through one of their ongoing campaigns or by donating.

Harley Jae Trust –

After a little boy called Harley Jae was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition, his bravery inspired his family to register the Harley Jae Trust. They aim to help children with life limiting conditions and their families. The trust helps them and hospitals gain access to the equipment and resources needed to improve the children’s quality of life. Find all the ways you can support the Harley Jae Trust on their website.

MEND is a not-for-profit company that works to empower and encourage British Muslims. Working in local communities they aim to get the groups more actively involved with the media and politics. They encourage people to use their vote and equip them with the skills, resources and materials necessary to play a more active role in society. Furthermore, they work with a range of organisations to help tackle Islamophobia and other forms of racism. You can find out more about MEND and how you can get involved on their website.

Nottingham County FC Football in the Community –

Going right back to our roots and the creation of Fifteen, we are proud to partner with Football in the Community. The charity delivers a range of programmes to make a positive impact to some of the most disadvantaged, marginalised and talented people across Nottingham. They specialise in 4 key areas: Health, Education, Social Inclusion and Sports Participation. Find out more about their projects online.

Derby Counselling Centre –

Mental health is important to all of us at Fifteen, which is why we have partnered with Derby Counselling Centre. Providing affordable counselling services, they help to develop a better understanding of problems that anyone might face and help look towards a path of recovery. If you are interested in booking an appointment with them simply click here.

Getting Involved

As part of our company ethos, we are always supporting charities, whether that is offering our services like we did for the Harley Jae Trust or climbing mountains like we did for IKCA, there is always a way that you can get involved with your chosen charity.

For example:

Nottingham Hospitals Charity has loads of events coming up, including those further afield like a trek around the Inca Trail, to those closer to home, like the Robin Hood half marathon. You can find out more on their events page.

IKCA offers a range of challenges and events to help raise funds. Ranging from the 3 peaks challenge (which our MD Ollie took part in back in 2015) to a Tour de Salah which takes you around London’s mosques and scenic views. Find out more about the events here.

If events aren’t your thing, but you still want to help raise money, Orphans in Need has loads of fundraising ideas. From setting up a charity car wash, a non-uniform day, collection boxes, swear boxes and more – find all the fundraising ideas here.

The Harley Jae Trust has a range of evenings coming up that you can purchase tickets for. Charity dinners are a great way of supporting your chosen charities as you have a night out and the opportunity to get dolled up for a great cause! Take a look at the upcoming events.

A recent addition to the Amazon offering is AmazonSmile. It’s something that I stumbled across at the weekend, and is a great way of getting a little bit of extra money to your favourite charity while shopping online!

By using you can support your chosen charity every time you shop through Amazon. The AmazonSmile foundation will donate 0.5% of the cost from your eligible purchases (there is a marking on these products) to the charity of your choice.
