Our WordPress developers in Nottingham design, build, and look after WordPress websites for businesses across the UK. Most are built as custom themes, so your team can update the site without calling us every time.

Let’s Work Together

WordPress development services for growing businesses.

A good WordPress site should load quickly, bring in enquiries, and keep working when plugins update. Too many don’t, usually because they’ve been built on a heavy theme and patched for years. At Fifteen, we build them properly right from the start.

We’ve been using WordPress since its early days, and it runs this site too. Our WordPress website development services cover:

  • WordPress web design and build: new sites designed from your data and your users, then built as a custom theme.
  • Redesigns and rebuilds of sites that have been patched for years and have become hard to manage.
  • Custom WordPress development: plugins, booking systems, member areas, and integrations with your CRM, finance, or stock systems.
  • WooCommerce shops, if you sell online (see our WooCommerce development page).
  • Speed, security, and technical SEO fixes on existing WordPress sites.
  • Support after launch: hosting, security, and support together under a service level agreement (SLA), or development support for updates, fixes, and new features if your site is hosted elsewhere.

WordPress website design work

How we build a WordPress site.

Every project starts with research rather than a template. We look at your analytics, talk to your customers where we can, and map out what each type of visitor needs to find.

  • Discovery: goals, audience, your current site’s data, and what’s not working.
  • UX and wireframes: page structure and user journeys signed off before any design.
  • Design: built around your brand, tested on mobile first.
  • Development: a custom theme with flexible content blocks, so your team can build new pages in the WordPress CMS without breaking the layout.
  • Testing: browser and device testing based on your own GA4 data, plus speed checks.
  • Launch: redirects mapped from your old site, tracking set up, and Search Console checked, to protect the rankings you already have.

Our digital marketing team is involved from the start, so SEO, tracking, and your campaigns are built in rather than added after launch.

Frequently asked questions.

How long does it take to build a WordPress website?

A brochure site can go from first conversation to launch in one to two weeks. That covers design, planning the site structure, the build, and testing. Bigger sites with integrations take longer, and the timeline always depends on the size of the site and how quickly we get feedback and content from you.

How much does a WordPress website cost?

It depends on what the site needs to do. The main things that affect the price are the number of page templates, custom features, such as booking systems or member areas, integrations with your CRM or other systems, and whether you’re selling online. On top of the build, the running costs are hosting, any premium plugins, and if you want one, a support package. We’ll give you a clear quote after a short scoping call, so you know exactly what’s included before any work starts.

Do you use templates or build custom themes?

Usually custom themes. Pre-built themes come with features you don’t need, which slows the site down and makes updates riskier. A custom theme gives your team flexible content blocks to build new pages without breaking the design. If a well-built theme fits a smaller budget, we’ll say so and customise that instead.

Can you take over an existing WordPress website?

Yes. We start with an audit of the theme, plugins, hosting, and security, then tell you plainly what needs fixing first and whether it’s worth keeping or rebuilding.

Can you move our site to WordPress from another platform?

Yes. We migrate content, set up 301 redirects from every old URL, and check Search Console after launch, to protect the rankings and links you’ve built.

Is WordPress secure?

WordPress itself is well maintained. The vast majority of reported WordPress vulnerabilities are in plugins, not WordPress core, so the biggest risks are out-of-date plugins, weak logins, and poor hosting. Our hosting and support packages cover tested updates, 24/7 monitoring, and security, which closes most of those gaps.

Do you offer WordPress support and maintenance?

Yes, in two ways. If we host your site, hosting, security, and support come together under a service level agreement (SLA), so you know what’s covered and how quickly we respond. There’s no ticketing system and no charge for phone calls. If your site is hosted elsewhere, our development support covers tested WordPress and plugin updates, fixes, and new features. Either way, you deal with the same people throughout.

Can my WordPress website be multilingual?

Yes. We set up language versions with the right plugin or custom development, including language switching and the hreflang tags search engines need to show people the right language or country version. If you need separate sites for regions or brands, WordPress Multisite runs them from one dashboard.
