Give Your Website Some Love This Valentines ?

February 14, 2017

Love is in the air this valentines day, and in the Fifteen Office we have been spreading the love with our secret valentine efforts, and launching some lovely new websites and taking a look at our favourite valentine campaigns, but how can you give your website some love this valentines week?

You may think it strange that I am asking you to give your website some love, but it’s true, you need to! It’s not the first time we’ve said this in our many blogs, but your website needs you, you can’t leave it alone to it’s own devices – it just won’t get any better without your knowledge and input. Imagine your site as an extra staff member who needs your guidance, they are always there to hep, they bring in business and say all the right things, and work hard to showcase your work – wouldn’t it be nice to give something back?

There are a few ways to give your website some love, take a look at our top tips below!

1. Give your Blog a Bit of Love

There are SO many benefits to blogging, we often blog 2 times a day! It gives you another page of keyword rich content for your users and Google to eat up and digest, helping position you as a thought-leader in your industry, as well as showing Google that you are updating your website – which means that it will visit your website more often.

The most common worry about blogging is the time involved in writing the posts, at Fifteen we write about anything and everything. Each staff member contributes at least 1 blog post per month to our blog – because we know how important it is to making sure that our website performs to the best of its abilities. Most content management systems do have the ability to schedule blog posts – so there is no excuse – if you have a spare afternoon, write a few blog posts about a new staff member; a new company achievement; a new project that your working on.

Blog posts only need to be around 300+ words and should take you no longer than 20mins to half an hour to write a blog post, then you can load them onto your website, and schedule them to go out over the course of a few days, giving your website an insert of a little bit of love and attention.

2. Valentines Day Discount

If you are an e-commerce website, why not offer a special valentines week discount on a selection of products, promote the offer across your social networks and encourage your customers to purchase more while they are loving your special offers!

If you offer a service like us, why not offer a complimentary audit or consultation for your potential customers – we are attending the Love Business Expo at Donnington Race Track in Castle Donnington on Thursday 16th Feb and offering a free website/SEO audit for anyone who drops their business card off to us – as well as giving out a few sweet treats and goodies, it could draw in potential customers and create some new special relationships.

3. A Valentines Makeover

Give your website a makeover for valentines, this doesn’t mean completely redesign your website, it just means update some images and content across the website to give it a bit of a fresh look. You’d be surprised how a subtle change can make such a difference to your website, not only for users who might be visiting your website on a regular basis, but Google will also LOVE this!

If you are looking for shaking things up a bit more, then how about redesigning some of your pages that you want to push – like a particular service, an appeal or giving your homepage a refresh. Designing and developing a change with your website, and then testing that change based on conversion rates will not only help to improve your websites user journey and enquiry rate but tells your website how much you love it.

So, what do you think about the above? Do you have any of your own Valentine promotions/ideas that you are running on your website, drop us a comment below and let us know!

Spread the love this year!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone <3
