David James is a well-respected and established estate agency celebrating 25 years in business in Nottinghamshire. In conjunction with celebrating their silver anniversary, the business made a decision to refresh their brand, signage and literature in order to bring their profile up to date and stand apart from the competition.
Creating the Brand
After working closely with the directors, we created a brand that paved a new path for the business whilst remaining respectful to the history and values of the company. The new logo uses the same colour palette as their previous editions and also uses a similar square shape. The corners have been softened to create a new shape that looks different to anything else out there and also gives the idea of movement and a new direction. The logo has two colour variants that can be used in different environments to create more of an impact on reversed background colours. Along with corporate stationery, we created a full brand guidelines document to ensure that the new branding is kept consistent across all media.
The Sale boards have also been updated in line with the new branding style. The ‘For Sale’ and ‘To Let’ boards echo the shape of the logo. They are unique in shape and size and therefore stand out from other signage that may be in the same area. When the properties are ‘Sold’ or ‘Let’, the entire board changes colour to red. This was a dramatic change in style for the business, but a change we wanted to encourage to again, set them apart from the competition and make people take notice.
The business has three offices located across Nottinghamshire and we worked with a local signage company to update all of the shop fascias. The signage is professional looking and is subtly lit to best attract the eye in the evening. The shop fronts had been virtually untouched for years and so this change immediately made people take notice of the new look.
We also updated the vinyl wrap graphics on the two company cars, playing on the two colour ways available with the new branding we have produced. This is a great way to get more advertising in wherever you go!
To complete the update of the business brand, we have redesigned the sale and letting brochures that go out to clients and prospective buyers. The main change in the literature design is that the content heavy pages have been reduced to light reading with more space and consistency between the collections of documents. The brochures are now easier to read, contain up-to-date information and also proudly display the stunning imagery of the properties without being over cramped. David James has their own in-house art worker, and so the documents were not only designed to look great in print, but also reworked into their own design software so they can edit them whenever they need to.Back to Case Studies
