The City of Leicester College Responsive Website
The City of Leicester College has recently embarked on the biggest spend in Leicester to complete the build of their new campus.
With over £3 million worth of technology inside the building, the college want to create a new website that oozes style and technology to echo the design and feel of the new building.
Aims & Ambitions
The City of Leicester College wanted their new website to be on par with their newly built campus in terms of modern technology and development for future growth. After meeting with the team, is was key that the main aim for the website was twofold. Firstly they needed to increase the college’s intake numbers and secondly, to provide as much information as possible to current students and parents
The City of Leicester College were eager to have a ‘future-proof’ website. In order to meet this ambitious task, it was imperative to include the latest technology such as a fully responsive build, ensuring all users could experience the site optimised for their device.
We also included parallax and retina ready imagery to really make the photography stand out and represent the College as visually as possible.
To maximise the functionality of the website, the user focussed full screen search aids accessibility. We have also included a dyslexia friendly toolbar within the website which can alter the colour scheme and text size across the site for easier legibility.
Prospectus Design and Print
Alongside the design of the new website, we worked with The City of Leicester College to update their range of prospectuses, keeping them inline with the new website.
Not wanting the feel of a conventional school prospectus, we worked on a design that would set The City of Leicester College apart from local schools and colleges. With a strong focus on photography the new suite of prospectuses deliver a unique and individual feel that compliments the website and presents the school in a modern light.
Additionally we also created a capacity folder which would house the prospectuses and any related content.
The City of Leicester College’s new website was received very well at the college, and the then assistant headmaster Peter Townsend had some great words to say about us.
As well as this testimonial, the City of Leicester College website was recognised by Awwwards, the awards for design, creativity and innovation on the internet.
The site was scored for various criteria including design and creativity, as well as usability and content.Back to Case Studies
